ICLA provides accommodation, services and support to people with mental disabilities. We provide a range of services and support to assist clients in their path to rehabilitation and recovery and leading independent lives by:

  • Providing a comprehensive and holistic service
  • Ensuring the active participation of the consumer, carer, clinical services and local services
  • Providing an assessment of need with the assistance of the client
  • Developing individual services plans that include action plans and reviews
  • Developing a wide range of skills including; daily living skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Providing a range of support for maintenance of daily routines, housing, family connections, community connections
  • Assisting with medical, hospital, clinical and legal requirements

Key Programs

  • Rehabilitation, recovery and skills based learning through individual planning and access to a wide range of activities, programs and services that assist our clients to participate in communities of their choice
  • Client and carer participation to improve planning of service provision at all levels
  • Promotion of healthy lifestyle through the provision of recreational and leisure activities that promote mental health and well-being
  • Service co-ordination through partnerships with our funders, other service providers, support services and community organisations
  • Research with partnerships from the sector, universities and other recognized establishments

Our Standards

Service Access and Management

Each person seeking a service has access on the basis of relative need and available resources. ICLA adopts sound management practice which maximized outcomes for clients.

Individual Needs

Each person with a disability receives a service which is designed to meet, in the least restrictive way, his or her individual needs and personal goals.

Decision Making and Choice

Each person has the opportunity to participate as fully as possible in making decisions about the events and activities of their daily life in relation to the services they receive.

Privacy, Dignity and Confidentiality

Each person’s right to privacy, dignity and confidentiality in all aspects of their life is recognised and respected.

Participation and Integration

Each person is supported and encouraged to participate and be involved in the life of the community.

Valued Status

Each person has the opportunity to develop and maintain skills and to participate in activities that enable them to achieve valued roles in the community.

Complaints and Disputes

Each person is free to raise and have resolved any complaints or disputes in regard to ICLA’s service.

Family Relationships

Each person receives a service which recognises the importance of preserving family relationships, social networks and is sensitive to their cultural and linguistic environments.

Protection Of Human Rights and Freedom from Abuse

ICLA ensures that the legal and human rights of people with disabilities are upheld in relation to the prevention of sexual, physical and emotional abuse within the service.
